**6th Grade Decimal Computation Assessment**All 6th graders must take the Decimal Multiplication and Division Computation Assessment by the end of the 2nd Quarter.

__UPDATE:__You can take the assessment anytime you want for the FIRST ATTEMPT. You do not have to complete any of the skills listed below unless you need to RETAKE the assessment because you score below an 85% the first time. Next available time for the assessment will be Tuesday during class!**Optional Practice Skills:**IXL 6th grade - H.2, H.4 and H.7

__IXL 7th grade E.3 and E.5 (These are required before taking the assessment for a second time.)__

**Required Practice Skills:**

**Process:**- Get of a 90 on both of the Required Practice Skills to become eligible to take the Assessment.
- Take a 10 question computation assessment in 15 minutes.
- When you score an 85% or higher, you can use your calculator for the remainder of the
**Rates Unit**which goes from now to the end of the quarter. - You can take the assessment as many times as you would like before 1/30/19. Your grade will be the highest score you achieve.
- Assessments can be taken before school, during advisory, after school by appointment, and during class on some days that 15 minute windows are available.

- Fraction Operations

- Geometric Transformations on the Coordinate Plane and the Algebraic Rules that Produce Them
- Introduction to Linear Equations and their Graphs

HOW DO I EARN MONEY OVER THE SUMMER?

1.) IXL

Between July 1st and August 15th, you can earn $1 for every IXL point you earn in each of the following categories. Calculators should be used if needed. These skills were chosen to maintain concepts, not for computation practice.

8th graders:

8th grade IXL: D, E, F, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, V, W

7th graders:

7th grade IXL: F, G, J, L, O, P, R, S

6th graders:

6th grade IXL: A, C, E, F, I, P, Q, R, T, W, Y, GG

***Note: I am only paying for points earned in these skills. However, you should consider doing computation related skills to keep your computation skills sharp.**

2.) Be prepared for class on the 1st day of school

Come to math class on the 1st day with the following items and you will earn $$$!
